Abstract

A 22-year-old female was referred for hepatic cystic mass. She had a trauma 4 years ago and has recent 1-month history of gradual abdominal pain. There was no significant past history and liver function tests were normal. An abdominal ultrasonography and a computed tomography revealed a hepatic cyst 3.8 cm in size that occupied the fourth segment of liver. The cystic lesion shows non-enhanced, high attenuated, well circumscribed margin. Based on these, the initial diagnosis was a hemorrhagic cyst and differential diagnosis included hepatic malignancy. Liver biopsy of cyst was performed. Histopathological tissue revealed normal liver parenchyma without evidence of malignancy. The final diagnosis was post-traumatic complicated hemorrhagic cyst in liver.
