Abstract

The intervertebral disc nucleus pulposus is composed of cartilage tissue and chondrocytes, and histological findings are similar to those of a chondroma. Intradural disc herniation can be observed in the form of an intradural tumor. Hence, if histological findings such as chondromas are observed, intradural disc herniation should be considered. The authors report a case in which the primary pathological finding was intradural chondroma and it was finally diagnosed as an intradural disc herniation based on the surgical findings.
