Abstract

This review examines the literature and commentary surrounding remote psychoanalysis/psychotherapy. The review includes various forms of remote psychoanalysis/psychotherapy conducted by telephone, online audio, and video conferences. While interest in remote psychoanalysis/psychotherapy has been present for a considerable time, it gained significant traction among an-alysts during the recent COVID-19 pandemic. This paper explores the evolving perspectives of analysts toward remote psychoanalysis/psychotherapy, discusses its advantages and disadvantages, and highlights future directions for research and practice.
