Abstract

Establishing aesthetic outcomes in peri-implant soft tissues of anterior implants is challenging for many clinicians. In this report, a 23-year-old woman with prolonged retention of the primary mandibular right central incisor was referred after completing orthodontic treatment. A one-piece mini-implant was immediately placed after extraction using a computer-designed stereolithographic surgical guide. After a healing period of 6 months, a second provisional restoration was fabricated for soft tissue molding. The resulting gingival contour was transferred to the final restoration by duplicating the gingival portion of the provisional crown with a gingival replica. This report describes a novel gingival recontouring method for one-piece mini-implants.
