Abstract

Vocal cord polyps are benign reactive lesions usually resulting from phonotrauma and congenital origins. A 24-year-old female visited the hospital with a husky, breathing voice. The patient had no history of general anesthesia or intubation. Atypical longitudinal vocal cords were identified under laryngoscopy. During the operation, the direct laryngoscope and histological findings revealed an atypical longitudinal polyp of the vocal cords. This paper presents a rare case of a longitudinal vocal polyp removed with a CO2 laser.
