Abstract
- It is my great honor to be the guest editor for this special edition titled “The endoscopic ultrasound (EUS) in gastrointestinal intervention” on behalf of International Journal of Gastrointestinal Intervention (IJGII). We live at the interventional endoscopy era. In the era of the interventional endoscopy, EUS-guided interventions has been updated most rapidly. Therefore, this special edition is focused on EUS intervention mainly for pancreas and bile duct problem. When I was selected as the guest editor, I was very delighted and pressured very much because I had not enough experience in rapidly developing EUS intervention fields. Fortunately, I handpicked the authors who are very experienced and active in the field of interventional EUS around world and supported by excellent reviewers. This special edition will provide a comprehensive review for readers of IJGII on interventional EUS from basic to highly advanced techniques. I really appreciated all invited authors and IJGII again. I am very grateful to my colleagues and friends for the timely contribution to the edition. I hope that this edition will enlighten the novices as well as the experts on this subject.
