Resorption of Calcification Lesions in Pulmonary Tuberculosis -One Case Report

Abstract

The author reported one case of complete resorption of calcification lesions in primary Pulmonary tuberculosis of 11 years old girl. Two nodules, (One Iarge, one small), of calcification definitely visualized after about two years of the first diagnosis of pulmonary tuberculosis. One year Iater of this calcification, the X-ray picture showed almost complete resorption of the smaIl calcification nodule and the X-ray of another two years Iater showed complete disappearance of the remaining Iarger calcification nodule from the picture. This meant the time for complete resorption of calcifícatiolJ in this case needed about 3 years after the calcification. The author speculated that although it had been very rarely observed clinically if we pay more attention to this phenomena, the possibility of resorption of calcification in pulmonary tuberculosis would occur more oftener than previously believed to be.
