Studies on I131 Uptake of Thyroid Glands in Pulmonary Tuberculosis Patients

Abstract

Author studied 24 hours 1¹³¹ uptake as a thyroid function test of 80 tuberculosis patients treated at the Dept. of Internal Medicine, Busan National University Hospital. Neither the extent of diseases not the duration of disease had relationships with 1¹³¹ uptake. But significant relationship. was observed between P AS- taking and 1¹³¹ uptake. Among 25 cases of PAS-taking group, there observed 15 cases of lower uptake below 15% and the mean uptake of PAS-taking 25 cases was 18.8%, on the other hand, those of initial untreated group and secondary drug group without PAS were 27. 6% and 26.6% respectively.
