A Study of Tuberculin Conversion and Prevalence of Tuberculosis Among Student Nurses

Abstract

Serial Tuberculin Tests had been made in student-nurses of CoIIege of Nursing, Yonsei University an<;l also serial radiological foIlow-up had been made. For two years, from April 1972 to April 1974, they were examined regularIy with interval of 6 months. 1) The positive skin test was noted in 253 students among 315 students. 2) Sixty two students with negative skin test had been foIIowed up with result of 28 recent converters in the first year, and 11 more converters in the second year, 3) Seven new pulmonary tuberculosis patients had been discovered through x-ray examination of the chest. AIl of them were already converted to positive at the begining of this study.
