A Case of Hepatic Tuberculosis Secondary to Intestinal Tuberculosis

Abstract

Involvement of the liver in patients with Mycobacterium tuberculosis has been described only in a few cases for over 150 years Secondary tuberculosis of the liver occurs more often than primary one, but has rarely been reported because of its demonstrability by biopsy or laparotomy In Korea with high incidence of tuberculosis, few cases of hepatic tuberculosis has been reported but no case of hepatic tuberculosis secondary to intestinal tuberculosis was reported yet. Recently we had the opportunity to observe one case of hepatic tuberculosis secondary to intestinal tuberculosis, that was confirmed with the use of liver biopsy and recovered dramatically with antituberculous chemotherapy. So we reported this case with brief review of literatures.
