Chest CT finding of Endobronchial Tuberculosis Patients

Abstract

Analysis was done of chest computed graphic (C.T) scans of 17 patients who are confirmed as having endobronchial tuberculosis. Although lymph node involvement was not seen definitely by simple chest X-ray. it was seen in 12 patients (71%) out of 17 patients with endobronchial tuberculosis by chest CT. The more yonger the age the more lymph node invasion was noted Five patients had no lymph node invasion and they are distributed throughout all age groups. In all 12 patients with lymph node invasion 18 mass densities were enlarged. Left side invasion was more predominant than right side. Paratracheal lymph node invasion was most common. The common lymph node size was 1- 2 cm and common appearance of lymph node was homogenous type. The response to treatment was better in cases without lymph node involvement be chest CT. Young female patients with endobronchial tuberculosis should be checked by chest CT to confirm lymph node involvement. which is though to be related to poor prognosis.
