Abstract

Primary mediastinal seminoma is a germ cell tumor histologically identical with testicular seminoma. We experienced one case of primary mediastinal seminoma. He was 21-year-old male with complaint of dyspnea and coughing for one month prior to admission. The patient underwent open thoracotomy, but complete resection was not performed, because of tumor encroachment on Supeior Vena Cava and Trachea. Pathological findings were compatible with seminoma originated in mediastinum. The patient was treated with radiotherapy involving the whole mediastinum includig both supraclavicular area after operation. He is well being now with favorable state for 3 months since operation and radiation therapy
