Abstract

The majority of aviation crashes bring occupant fatal casualties. The associations between Air-crashes and Body injuries has become more elucidated. This article aims to review patterns of body injury in circumstant air-crashes. Rearch papers and Investigation reports for crashes were reviewed to identify patterns of body injury and other contributing factors in air crashes. Decelation energy is the main impact force to trigger body injury in air crach. The substantial contributing factors to fatal body injury in air crash are as follows (CREEP): Container, Restraint, Energy absoption, Environment and Postcrash factors such as fire and escape. A previous study has identified the simple composite index measuring the risk of fatality in a given crash from a variety of risk factors for occupant fatality in air crashes. It is a 4-scored index made from fire, instrument meteorological condition, and being away from airport (FIA score). Elucidation of information about risk factors of body injuries in air crashes is crucial for developing effective intervention programs.
