Polyostotic Fibrous Dysplasia: A Report of Two Cases

Abstract

Fibrous dysplasia is a relatively rare condition characterized hy fibrous displacement of portions of the medullary cavities of a bone and bones. Two cases of polyostotic fibrous dysplasia are presented which experienced at the Dept. of Orthopedic Surgery, Chung Nam Univ. Hospital, recently. One case occured in a 16 year-old girl and the other in a 34 year old woman with multiple bone lesions without extra-skeletal symptoms. In both there were no inflammatory changes on the local area. The final diagnosis was confirmed according to the microscopic examination of the specimen and X-ray studies.
