Study on the Branches of Axillary Arteries of Korean Adult

Abstract

This study presents variations in the origins of the branches of the axillary arteries in 52 Korean. Both the right and left sides were studied so that a total of 104 arteries were observed. 1. The highest thoracic artery arose from the first part of the axillary artery in 83.6%. 2.The thoracoacromial artery arose from the second part of the axillary artery in 68.3%. 3. The lateral thoracic artery arose from the second part of the axillary artery in 53.8%. 4. The anterior circumflex humeral artery arose from the third part of the axillary artery in 66.3%. 5. The posterior circumflex humeral artery arose from the third part of the axillary in 53.8%. and from a common trunk with the anterior circumflex humeral artery in 22.3%. 6. The subscapular artery arose from the third part of the axillary artery in 68.4%. 7. The five axillary branches ocurred most often and in 49%.
