Renal aspergillosis: a case report

Abstract

A case of renal aspergillosis in a malnourished 55 years old male is presented with brief review of the literatures. Radiographic findings were as follows; Exceretory urography showed a well defined mass on the right kidney upper medial aspect with focal diminished neprogram and adjacent calyceal displacement. Sonography showed ahomogeneous isodense low level echo mass without posterior enhancement. Selevtive right renal angiography showed avscular mass with adjacenet vascular displacement, but minimal irregular tortuous vasculature are seen in the interior of the mass, supplied by the branch of renal artery. Right nephrectomy was performed. It was a thick encapsulated abscess cavity completely filled with thick viscid pus and pathologically confirmed as renal aspergillosis.
