A case of adrenal cortical carcinoma with massive calcifications

Abstract

adrenal cortical carcinoma is a rare disease with poor prognosis. This tumor may present excess hormoneelaboration, but one half of carcinomas may be nonfunctioning. this carcinoma is twice as common in female as inmale. CT is the best method to diagnosis mass lesions of the adrenal glands. The CT findings of most adrenalcortial carcinoma show large sized mass with central necrosis and frequent scattered calcification. The authorsexperienced a case of adrenal cortical carcinoma with massive calcification around the periphery of the tumor andcentral portion in 57 year old male patient.
