Pulmonary menifestation in leukemia

Abstract

Chest examination of leukemic patients we used to find several kinds of abnormal findings due to direct invasion of leukemic cell and other inflammatory process. This report was attempted to determine the statistics of pulmonary menifestations in leukemic patients visited Kyung-Pook National University Hospital since Jan. 1970 toDec. 1977. Among 141 leukemic patients 53 cases showed abnormal chest x-ray findings. Age distribution of patientswas between 10 to 30 and male was predominant for 1.8 to 1 and type of leukemia were respectively as follows;lymphatic type 43.3%, acute myelocytic 31.9%, monocytic type 1.3% and others. In chest X-ray findings granular tonodular (35.9%) and infiltrative change(27.6%) were found in addition to simple enlargement of hilar nodes(32.1%).
