Abstract
- Both operative and non-operative intervention can be utilized in the treatment of neglected patellar dislocation in adults. Operative interventionsinclude patellectomy, lateral retinacular release, medial retinacular augmentation using tendon transfer, and distal realignment. Neglected patellar dislocation has been rarely reported in adults. We report a case of neglected patellar dislocation with degenerative osteoarthritis in a 56-year-old male patient who underwent total knee arthroplasty combined with lateral retinacular release, medial retinacular augmentation, and anteromedial transfer of the tibial tubercle for distal realignment.
