Abstract
- Pigmented vitreal cyst is a benign and uncommon entity with uncertain etiology. A floating intravitreal material was incidentally noticed in a 44-year-old man. Visual acuity was 1.2 and intraocular pressure 16 millimeters of mercury in both eyes. All other ophthalmic examination were normal. On posterior segment examination, a free-floating, brownish, round cyst of about two disc diameter in size was demonstrated in the inferior vitreous cavity of the left eye without any other abnormalities. During the follow-up examination for thirty months, the shape, size, color, and location of the cyst was not changed with the same visual acuity and IOP. Pigmented vitreal cyst is benign with no change for a long time, and then generally need no special treatment unless it blocks visual axis
