Abstract

Posterior chamber intraocular lenses (PCL) were implanted by sulcus-fixation with 9-0 prolene suture in 13 eyes without capsular and/or zonular support: 3 cataractous, 6 aphakic, 4 aphakic eyes with opaque cornea. The latter 4 eyes underwent PCL implantation by sulcus suture fixation and simultaneous penetrationg keratoplasty. This technique has been successfully performed in all cases and resulted in good visual outcome in 12 eyes(93%). In 4 eyes which had penetrationg keratoplasty and the fixation of PCL, one developed vitreous hemorrhage and one developed corneal graft rejection.
