Total Dislocation of the Talus: A Case Report of a Three Year Followup
Abstract
-
Total dislocation of the talus from all surrounding joints without concomitant fracture is an extremely rare injury. Total dislocation of the talus is frequently open injury. Infection and avascular necrosis may follow. Because of an inablity to reduce the talus by closed methods, we performed an open reduction. At 3-year follow-up, our patient had good functional and good roentgenographic result with no posttraumatic arthritis or posttraumatic avascular necrosis. So we report this case with review of literature.
