Abstract

Intrauterine rupture of amnion leading to the development of amnion and/or chorion strand, which encircles developing limbs and adheres to the mouth and other areas of the craniofacies, results in craniofacial and limb defects. The event of amniotic rupture appears to initiate a cascade of secondary defects which may be refered to as Amniotic band anomalad or Amniotic band disruption complex. We experienced a male newborn infant who showed anomalies of the limbs most probably due to amniotic band constriction. A brief review of literatures were presented.
