A Case of Gastric Leiomyosarcoma Associated with Hypoglycemia
Abstract
- Leiomyosarcoma of the stomach is relatively rare, accounting for
1% to 3% of malignant tumors and 20% of smooth muscle tumors of the stomach.
It is difficult to diagnose this tumor preoperatively because of its vague
symptoms and signs or late presentation of symptoms. Gastric leiomyosarcoma
associated with hypoglycemia has not been reported yet in Korea.
We report a case of gastric leiomyosarcoma with frequent episodes of mental
confusion and loss of consciousness associated with hypoglycemia
in a 65-year-old female.
