Visibility of Printed Health Education Material and its Related Factors

This study was performed to evaluate the factors on visibility of printed material. Study population were 109 literates, 45 years old and over. The major results were as follows. The Fifty nine respondents (55.1%) reported exposing on the printed material less than once a month, and thirty two respondents (29.9%) more than five times a month. The rate of exposing on the printed material increased by sex, education, disease status, and visual acuity to read magazine significantly. Forty five respondents (45%) reported preferring Gothic. There was no factor associated with preferring Gothic significantly. The rate of reading easily were 72.0% in 13 point and 58.9% in 12 point, 34.6% in 10 point respectively. The factors associated with font size were age, sex, education, visual acuity to read magazine, and exposure on printed material. The rate of reading easily were 80.8% in 120 width and 57.6% in 110 width, 29.3% in 100 width respectively. The factors associated with font width was age. In the logistic regression, the factor which is related with exposure on printed materials and font size was education. Based on the above-mentioned results, the influence factor on visibility of printed material should be considered for the strategy to develop and make the most of printed material.
