Abstract
- Interpretation of abnormalities in liver function tests is valuable because they provide clues for various hepatobiliary disease. Because liver function tests have become a routine checkup in screening tests, isolated alterations of biochemical markers of liver damage in a seemingly healthy patient often represent a challenge for a clinician. Detailed history taking and physical examination are often helpful in interpretation of abnormal liver function tests and differential diagnosis. Proper diagnosis and management can be made with further laboratory tests and understanding of the laboratory results.
