Uterus Didelphys with an Obstructed Hemivagina and Ipsilateral Renal Agenesis
Abstract
-
The association between urinary and genital anomalies in female patients has been extensively described. The combination of uterus didelphys, obstructive hemivagina and ipsilateral renal agenesis is a rare but specific syndrome. Invariably this complex of anomalies is seen in adolescents and young women with progressively severe abdominal pain, menstrual irregularities, and a pelvic mass. Accurate preoperative diagnosis and appropriate treatment will offer relief of symptoms and decrease morbidity and unnecessary procedures. We report one case of uterus didelphys with an obstructed hemivagina and ipsilateral renal agenesis with a brief review of concerned literatures.
