Abstract
- Aneurysms arising from the posterior circulation are relatively uncommon, accounting for less than 15% and remains a difficult surgical challenge even for neurosurgeons specializing in the treatment of cerebrovascular disease. To prevent complications during or after aneurysm surgery in posterior circulation, a comprehensive understanding and anticipation of vital structures in each alternative approaches to specific location provide the key to minimizing neurological injury. This lecture will review the complications and its management that may develop during or following the aneurysm surgery in posterior circulation according to specific locations.
