A Case of Widespread Follicular Mucinosis Associated with Mycosis Fungoides
Abstract
- We presented here a case of a 53-year-old male patient who was confirmed as follicular mucinosis associated with mycosis fungoides. He showed erythematous infiltrative papules and plaques on the face, scalp, trunk and extremities. Some of the lesions were observed as mycosis fungoides. A biopsy specimen showed both findings of follicular mucinosis and mycosis fungoides, such as reticular degeneration of follicles, deposit of mucin, Pautrier's microabscess, epidermotropism, rather dense perifollicular or perivascular infiltrates, and the presence of significant proportions of admixed eosinophils and plasma cells. To our best knowledge, this is the first reported case of follicular mucinosis associated with mycosis fungoides in Korea.
