A Case of Choroidal Malignant Melanoma

Abstract

The author has experienced a case of malignant melanoma of the choroid in a 57-years old Korean male. The patient visited our hospital's emergency room in August 1981, with severe right ocular paiq and headache. The eyeball was slightly protruded and enlarged. And the cornea wea edematous. The vision of right eye was complete blindness. The intraocular tumor was suspected by patient's history and ocular examinations. So enucleation was performed and histopathologically the tumor was confirmed to choroidal malignant melanoma composed of spindle cells and epitheloid cells. And the metastasis to lung was suspected on chest X-ray.
