Abstract
- The spine is a frequent site for malignant osteolytic lesions. The clinical outcome of patients with spinal metastatic cancer is often poor, with severe pain and disability often experienced. Radiation therapy gives relief form the pain, but requires a long period to experience a response, with a minimal bone strengthening effect. Percutaneous vertebroplasty has the advantages of providing bone strengthening and rapid pain relief. Here, two cases of percutaneous vertebroplasty are reported for pain control in spinal metastatic cancer.
