A Case of Fixed Drug Eruption induced by Chlorpropamide
Abstract
- Chlorpropamide, an oral hypoglycemic agent, has been commonly used in control of diabetes mellitus. Cutaneous side effects from chlorpropamide are uncommon, but some crimes may lead to serious morbidity. Thesereactions include erythema multfforme, maculopapular eruption, toxic epidermal necrolysis, photosensitvity and lichenold eruption. But in the literature we have been unable to find case report of the fixed drug eruption due to chlorpropamide. We herein present a case of generalized bullous fixed drug erption repeatedly developing in a 65-year-old woman with diabetes mellitus after oral ingestion of chlorprop amide.
