Spontaneous Intracranial Hypotension

Abstract

Spontaneous intracranial hypotension (SIH) is characterized by orthostatic headache, low CSF pressure, and MRI findings of diffuse pachymeningeal enhancement without previous history of head trauma or lumbar puncture. MR imaging has revolutionized the diagnosis of SIH. The author review clinical manifestation, diagnostic work-up and current treatment of SIH.
