A Case of a Fetus With Cyclopia and Cystic Hygroma

Abstract

Cyclopia is a rare congenital fetal occular anomaly in which the eyes are fuse together and located in a single orbit. A proboscis-like structure is situated above the orbit. It is commonly associated with hydrocephalus, anencephalus, polydactyly, hermaphroditism, hernia, and etc. We have experienced a case of the chromosome mosaicism in a fetus with cyclopia and cystic hygroma observed in a 26-year-old primiparous woman, and report it with a brief review of related literatures.
