Abstract

Positive rate and average time of Fluorescein Dye Disappearance Test(FDD) and Jones Dye test in normal healthy korean. We evaluate the positive rate and mean positive time of Flourescein Dye Disappearance and Jones test I, II, that are functional test, in healthy young korean. Many authors described their result differently so we want to make our own data in healthy koreans. We performed FDD and Jones dye test to the 100eyes of 50 normal healthy Koreans. We take three class in Jones test. The first class is instructed to lean as far as possible, usually resting their elbows on their knees, the second is sitting erect, and the third is right head tilting position. The aaverage passage time in FDD is 179 +or- 95 seconds and rate of positive result is 92% in five minutes. The positive result of primary Jones test is 80% to sum of first, second and third. The first is 90%, the second is 70%, the third is 60%. Differences between the first and second and between the first and third class were significant respectively (p<0.05, p<0.01). It was different between both eyes, Rt. eye 20%, and Lt. 40% in right head tilting position. A position is important factors to perform Jones dye test.
