A Simple Surgical Treatment for Ingrowing Toenails

Ingrowing toenail gives affected patients a great discomfort. The authors proposed a simple surgical method with the simplest anesthetic technique for the management of the ailment. The procedure includes: local anesthetic infiltrations in two directions from a point on the affected toe, splitting and removal of the ingrowing part of affected nail plate, exposure and electrodesiccation of part of nail matrix responible for the growth of the affected part of a nail plate and one stitch repair of the proximal nail fold.
