A Case of Combined Pregnancy
Abstract
-
The coexistence of intrauterine and extrauterine gestations is a rare obstetric phenomenon. Its incidence was very low, that is, 1/30,000 intrauterine pregnancy, but recently as increased numbers of women handled by assisted reproductive technology[ART], the presence of simultaneous intrauterine and extrauterine gestation should be no longer considered as a rarity. The preoperative diagnosis of simultaneous intrauterine and extrauterine pregnancy is very difficult. So there is a higher maternal morbidity and fetal loss. We experience a case of intrauterine pregnancy and right tubal pregancy as combined pregnancy in 30-year-old primiparous woman, and the right salpingectomy was performed under the diagnosis of heterotropic pregnancy. this case was presented with brief review of the literatures.
