A Case of Term Cesarean Delivery in Patient with Thoracic Aortic Aneurysm
Abstract
-
Thoracic aortic aneurysm is associated with increased morbidity and mortality in pregnancy. Various pregnancy-related physiologic changes appear to make pregnancy a high risk situation for rupture of an arterial aneurysm. The hemodynamic and endocrine changes of pregnancy appear to be the cause of arterial alterations which may lead to new aneurysm formation and/or weakening of preexisting aneurysms. Successful term pregnancy and cesarean delivery of a patient with aortic aneurysm is presented.
