A Clinical Observation on Donor Nephrectomy for Renal Transplantation

Abstract

Various clinical evaluations were performed on fourteen donors for renal transplantation which were done for these 2 years at the Dept. of Urology, Seoul National University Hospital The following results were observed. 1) Age distribution: Thirteen cases were under 50 years old and only 1 case was over 6O years old 2) Relation; related donor: 8 cases, unrelated donor: 6 cases 3) Blood ABO type: same ABO type: 13 cases, different -ABO type: 1 cases 4) Mixed lymphocyte culture: ranged from 2% to 17% and the average 15% 5) Selected kidney side: right side: 4 cases, left side: 10 cases 6) Ischemic time: ranged from 28 min. to 50 min. and the average 35 min. 7) The postoperative courses were uneventful and discharged on the post-operative 7th day in all donors.
