Abstract

Aspiration of the proximal vas deferens was carried out under local anesthesia in a man with persistent diabetes-related anejaculation that could not be overcome using rectal probe electroejaculation, and intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) was tried in the ooplasm of 10 metaphase II oocytes. A fairly good number of spermatozoa (20 million/ml) with progessive motility (15.2%) was obtained. A singleton pregnancy resulted that is currently at 12 weeks gestation. Aspiration of the vas deferens under anesthesia is a relatively simple technique which provides an acceptable alternative to chemical ejaculation or rectal electrostimulation in patients with ejaculatory failure.
