Abstract

The sudden onset of pain, swelling and ecchymosis of the penis during sexual intercourse is the typical presentation of traumatic rupture of the corpus cavernosum, commonly termed fracture of penis. We report a case of isolated traumatic rupture of the communicationg vein between deep dorsal and superficial dorsal vein of the penis. But this condition is very rare. The patient was 49 years old with sudden onset of pain, cracking sound, swelling and ecchymosis of the penis during the sexual intercourse. The ecchymosis was spread scrotum and lower abdomen. The patient was performed physical examination and cavernosography. We performed immediate exploration in order to know the condition and to do treatment. We found the rupture of the communicating vein between deep dorsal and superficial dorsal vein only. We think that the penile injury with normal cavernosogram can be considered conservative therapy in the condition of no bleeding sign.
