Abstract

A 24-year-old woman was admitted to the hospital because of fever and right flank pain since third trimester. Such symptoms were exacerbated after delivery. KUB and IVP demonstrated huge mass shadow, compressed pelvis with medial displacement and obliterated upper and middle calyces. Ultrasonogram demonstrated enlarged echofree space around acidogenic wall in right kidney. Right flank incision and drainage were done. Gray yellowish thickened 550ml mucopurulent discharge was obtained from the aspirated renal abscess cavity. Pseudomonas aeruginosa was cultured from obtainedspecimen. Postoperative course was relatively uneventful.
