Statistical Observation on Patients (1968~1970)

Abstract

Statistical observation was made on out-patients and in-patients in the Department of Urology, Kyungpook National University School of Medicine during the period from January, 1968 to December, 1970. I. Statistics on out-patients 1) The cases of total out-patients were 4,018 and in-patients 357. The ratio of out-patient to in patient was 11.35:1.2) The ratio of male to female in total out-patient was 3.9: 1, and female patients have been rather increased than these of male year by year. 3) Except for the miscellaneous group of the cases, most frequent disease were non-specific inflammatory diseases of the GU tract (22.91%), and venereal diseases (8.64%) and urolithiasis (5.13%) were markedly increased than those of previous statistics. II. Statistics on in-patients 1) The number of in-patients was equally increased in both sex yearly. The ratio of male to female was 4.2:1.2) The majority of Genito-urinary diseases were urolithiasis (20.62%), injury (20.39%), tumor (16.92%) and tuberculosis(11.19%) in order. III. Statistics on operations The cases of total operations were 280 during 3 years and it comprised 78.43% of total cases of in-patients. The majority of the operations were nephrectomy (48cases), urethroplasty for injury (28 cases), and ureterolithotomy (25 cases) in order.
