A Case of Erythema Elevatum Diutinum

A case of 40 years old female with E.E.D. is reported. The skin lesions were chare,- cterized by persistent several hard, reddish blue colored, dome and flatten shaped plaques on tbe dorsal surface of left band and left lateral malleolar area. Histopathological examination showed leukocytoclastic angiitis with neutrophils and their fragments in the walls of the small vessels and their immediate perivascular area of the dermis. Dermal infiltrate was polymorphous, with lymphocytes, and histiocytes, but the overwhelming majority were neutrophils, and the eosinophilic hya line material was noted witbin and around the vessel walIs. She was treated with D.D.S. for 3 months and favorable effect was noted. Literr-atures are briefly reviewed for discussion of clinical, histopathological findings and treatment of this disease.
