Abstract

A case of adenocarcinoma arising from urachus is reported in view of its rarity and importance of differentiation from similar diseases such as tumor of the G-I system or prostate. The patient was 30 year-old man and complained of intermittent hematuria, palpable mass on lower abdomen and purulent discharge from umbilicus. There were no symptoms or abnormal signs on the G-I tract or prostate. Sinus through the tumor mass from umbilicus to bladder was demonstrated by sinogram and the orifice of the sinus was detected on the cystoscopy. Biopsy was done and it revealed adenocarcinoma with relatively well differentiated glandular epithelium and scattered necrosis or hemorrhage. A brief review of literature was made.
