A Relapsed Cryptococcal Meningitis: Alterations of MRI Findings and Vision

Abstract

Cyptococcal meningitis occurs frequently as an opportunistic infection in the immunocomprornised patients. Optic neuropathy could be resulted from the meningitis, which might be heralded by reactivation f cryptococcal infection. The four pattems of MRI findings in cryptococcal meningitis were also reported, which would be helpful in determining proper mangement. A patient with the relapsed cryptococcal meningitis with alteration of MRI findings and heralding visual impairment uas described in detail. The authors thought the both alterations might be important in determining treatment schedule, its maintennce and prognosis of the meningitis.
