A Case of Verrucous Bowen's Disease

Abstract
- Bowen's disease is an intraepidermal squamous cell carcinoma, which usually presents as an erythematous, flat, slightly scaly lesion with a sharp, but irregular outlines. However, rare variants of Bowen's disease can occur such as fungating, verrucous forms or pigmented forms, and these can be misdiagnosed as other benign or malignant neoplasms. A 69-year-old woman presented with a verrucous plaque on her left malleolar area which had a peripheral light brown hue. The histopathologic features were consistent with Bowen's disease and also showed marked hyperkeratosis, acanthosis and papillomatosis. We report a case of verrucous Bowen's disease on the malleolus of a 69-year-old female patient.
