Abstract

Congenital anomalies of the pancreatic ductal system are very rare and result from abnormalities in embryological development of the pancreas from the ventral and dorsal buds. We encountered an interesting case of anomalous pancreatic duct in a patient with post-bulbar insertion of the common bile duct. It could be caused by defective rotation and fusion of the pancreatic anlagens during early gestation. To our best knowledge, this kind of anomaly has not been previously described.
