A 24-year-old woman complained of decreased visual acuity to 0.6 in her left eye. Fundus examination showed circinate retinopathy with vascular dilatation and tortuosity connected to a retinal capillary heman- gioma about three times the size of the optic disc in the inferotemporal retina. Systemic evaluation and familial history were nonspecific. A three-times freeze-thaw cryotherapy was done. During follow-up period, though mild subretinal hemorrhage with increased exudative retinal detachment occurred and the visual acuity decreased to 0.3, no additional cryotherapy was applied because the hemangioma appeared to regress gradually. Nine months after treatment, visual acuity was 0.9 in her left eye. The hemangioma completely regressed to a scar tissue and other abnormal retinal findings disappeared. A cryotherapy seems to be effective on a medium-sized solitary retinal capillary hemangioma.
